DW's completed manuscript (except in the case of the novels he dictated, where there would not be one) would be passed to his secretary to type up - sometimes in stages, at other times perhaps as a whole.

DW would review the typescript, and sometimes make extensive alterations. There would then be a re-iteration of the typing until DW was ready to submit the typescript to Hutchinson's.
