of Winnie-the-Pooh similar to DW’s

DW had an eye for collecting which included the best of children’s literature too.

In his autobiography, DW wrote :

‘ … And we must not forget A.A.Milne’s Winnie-the-Pooh books, for they give pleasure to millions more people than other books.’

He had copies of the large paper limited first edition of Winnie-the-Pooh (No. 319 of 350 copies) and the large paper limited first edition of The House at Pooh Corner (No. 291 of 350 copies) in his collection.

The former was priced by Blackwell’s at £385 and the latter at £400. Either might fetch up to £10,000 on a good day today.
