But sometimes, perhaps inevitably, errors slipped through...

The proof reader forgets to check that the dialogue that DW has written in German is entirely correct

...and a printer omits a number from the spine

Careful as DW and his support team were to get everything right, something occasionally slipped through the net.

In one case above, the proof reader forgot to check that the dialogue that DW had written in German in 'Gateway to Hell' was entirely correct. In the other case, the printer of the Lymington edition of 'Codeword Golden Fleece' omitted the number '7' from the back of the spine. DW noticed it (and was annoyed by it) even though the casual observer would have been unaware of the mistake because it would have been hidden by the dustjacket.
