The Dennis Wheatley 'Museum' - Gordon Eric Gordon-TombeA letter from Gordon-Tombe to DW
This letter must have crossed in the post with the previous one.
Gordon-Tombe begins it in characteristic style 'My Dear Old Boy', and cautions 'Be very careful not to give D. any information about me.' Gordon-Tombe's handwriting is exceptionally difficult, and sometimes DW wrote pencil transcriptions underneath each of Gordon-Tombe's lines so as to help him read his letters. Sometimes Gordon-Tombe would write an 'X' at the top of a letter. This was a code that DW was to go and attend to some business for him in Jermyn Street. References : Phil Baker p181
