DW had acquired a flat in 60 Cadogan Square in 1961, and at the same time as he was selling Grove, the lease on the whole building became available. He took it, taking two floors and leaving the top floor in the hands of the previous owner of the lease.

Many weeks were spent re-organising and re-decorating, and a private lift was installed between DW’s two floors.

Once this was finished, DW had a very comfortable home in one of London’s most well regarded locations.

It was to be DW’s home for the rest of his life.

His Swedish friend Iwan Morelius visited him there, and took these photos.
