Goring-on-Thames... a postcard of invitation from Douglas Sharp

A couple of DW's closest friends, Douglas Sharp and Cecil Cross, were in the elite Territorial Westminster Dragoons, and he had gone down on his motorcycle to see them at their camp at Goring-on-Thames on 3rd August 1914 when the call for mobilisation came.

This postcard, sent by Douglas Sharp to invite DW down to Goring shows where they dined - the inscription at the top is by DW.
