Dear Dennis and Joan,

Upon my unexpected return to London I called at The War Cabinet. You and Johnny Bevan and all the others except Ronald having gone made it seem a hollow and museum-like place.

I had assumed you had jumped into tweeds since the grapevine in Frankfurt mentioned another book by D & J Wh. Congratulations and more to follow says Ronald.

My tour in London writing Italian and Balkan peace treaties, carries on until the 1st of May after which we go to the Paris Peace Conference. The entire matter leaves me frigid since I have not seen my expanding family for a year and a half. I am now the father of twins (a boy and a girl) just over a year old.

On your next trip to London I’d like to have you join me at 24 Park Lane for cocktails and dinner afterward. My office telephone is Mayfair 9222, Ext 532.

Sincerely,

Bill Baumer
