In 1946/7, DW decided to try his hand at historical novels and introduced another principal character to his repertoire – Roger Brook.
DW had Roger born in Grove Place, and over a series of twelve books interspersed by other novels, DW had him become William Pitt’s secret agent and involved him in almost every important event in Napoleonic history.
