Two of the more authoritative books on Wartime Deception which mention both the London Controlling Section and Dennis Wheatley

Since the nineteen seventies, progressively more information has been made public about the role of Deception Planning in the Allies' victory in World War Two, and David Pymer, who is researching this, tells me that over two hundred books have now been published on the subject - a large number referring to the important role of the London Controlling Section, and quite a number specifically mentioning Dennis Wheatley.

This is all a far cry from the time when DW was awarded his U.S. Bronze Star and the general who presented it leaned over and whispered:

"We can't put it in writing, but I know the really big things you did."

Now we all know.
