The Dennis Wheatley 'Museum' - Researching the OccultThe manuscript takes shape ...

DW wrote a synopsis and then started on a pencil draft. This was amended, and he then wrote an ink draft. This in turn was corrected and a double spaced typescript was produced. Again this received further amendment until a single spaced typescript resulted. The draft therefore went through many stages of refinement where DW inserted, modified, improved and deleted portions of his draft until everything was worded as crisply as he wanted and he was satisfied with it. DW was invariably thorough with his work.
